Why We Do What We Do

There are just some things in my life that I don't like to do. But you and I both know that, "Anything worth doing is worth is worth doing well."

As a child, I thought I'd never be done with school. So many classes didn't seem to have anything to do with life. My parents' discipline rarely made sense to me. I mean, what could be wrong with a 14 year old staying out all night?

Fast forward and we all realized the benefit of doing the right things well. From exercise to diet, and from earning to retirement. You may not always understand why you're doing it, but you know the results.

Our study in I Corinthians, Living Free in a Stuck World, is all about doing the right thing well. If you've been walking with us through this study, you'd know that we've talked about division, sexual purity, guidelines for freedom, lawsuits and relational issues. At times, it was a long grind...some things didn't seem to make sense.

Here's the good thing; It all leads to living the abundant life Jesus modeled for us. There is a payoff that is literally out of this world when you lean into your apprenticeship to Jesus. But it's not easy, and at times it doesn't make sense and you may even want to quit.
