Order in the Church

I threw the butter knife to the ground in frustration. It lay there, bent and dulled. Someone should've told me that one can't use a butter knife as a screwdriver or a saw. As a cheap Scotsman, I've always tried to cut corners and save a little. Having the right tool for the job can certainly save a lot of heartache.

When it comes to walking with Jesus one can't skip steps or test out of the process. The bible teaches us that God is sovereign. He has a plan. We are part of His plan. This is what the book of I Corinthians is all about...the blueprint for living out our faith--with a special emphasis on how we do that "together"...in community.

This weekend we tackle a chapter that many skip over or confuse. Yet, a closer look into the direction Paul is giving yields a sweet simplicity and helps us engage with the right tools. We can truly live freely in a stuck world when we take God at His word--when we focus on the practice of His way...not MY way.
