The Gospel in a Nutshell

Jul 20, 2025    Neil Montgomery

Over the years, I have read some really great books on Healthy Living. Books like, "Eat to Live" and "How Not to Die." At my last annual physical, my doctor and I had a really great chat about the Mediterranean Diet and how it's a great lifestyle to adapt. I have really enjoyed reading additional articles and listening to podcasts from the experts in the field of health, and I believe it all. It's really good stuff.

Here's the problem--I'm really applying none of it. I believe the data is true, but it has no impact on my life. There's a tiny problem with that--if I don't allow these truths to impact my life...I'm going to be in a heap of trouble.

Do you see where I'm going? Most of us believe in God and we believe in Jesus as someone worthy of following. If we were asked in an interview if we believe the bible to be true, we'd give a rousing head nod and a loud, "yes." But like my belief in the health experts, it has little impact on our lives.

This week, as we open to chapter 15 of I Corinthians, we'll see how understanding the "Good News" of the bible can be a game-changer for the way you experience life.
