Baptism - Into the Waters

Apr 7, 2024    Neil Montgomery

On Easter we celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus. Without this victory over death, there would be no hope for any of us. Following the biblical narrative, before Jesus ascended into heaven, He commissioned His followers to "carry on" His work--which was to develop others into disciples...followers...apprentices of Jesus.

However, right after that they are charged to "baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit." Baptism is a symbolic picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

When a Christian is immersed in the water, this person is identifying with Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. They are also making a public declaration of faith in Jesus as their Savior and Lord.

Jesus commanded His followers to be baptized. If you are new to faith in Christ, or have never been baptized, we would love to come alongside you as you take this important step in your spiritual journey!

Join us this Sunday as we talk about “Baptism”.
